Position Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Technical Control to join the team based in Derby aligned to Civil Large Engines.
The main role of a Technical Controller is to control, support and manage the introduction of authorised Product Technical Change for both New Production and Aftermarket Civil Aerospace engines.
Our team create and manage Product Structures and Engine Bill of Materials within the IT systems - Product Data Management and Teamcenter. Bill of Materials serve two prime purposes:
1) To cascade engine part number demands into SAP for the supply chain, and,
2) To create engine and module assembly build instructions (method & sequence) through our Manufacturing Execution System.
This will include creation of modification instructions for build with updates to Bill of Materials, analysing module swaps between engines, analysing engine swaps between customers, conducting engine verifications
What you will be doing:
The role on offer presents an excellent opportunity to gain wider exposure to ongoing operational challenges. It provides excellent learning opportunity across the value stream legs extending from design definition through to engine despatch.
The role will include representing Technical Control in aspects of Product Change (Advanced Product Quality Planning), creating modification instructions for build with updates to Bill of Materials, analysing module and engine reallocations, conducting Product Verifications and supporting the assembly build areas:
- Support the Product Change process, guiding modification incorporation into Civil engines.
- Create, manage, and control specific serialised Product Bill of Materials in line with design intent.
- Produce product structures to support best practice in supply chain management and assembly and provide Should Build and modification instructions.

Preferred Requirements:
- Understanding of Change Management elements and principles (APQP)
- Basic understanding of Bill of Materials, Supply Chain and build processes
- Knowledge in the use of Product Data systems e.g. Teamcenter & Product Data Management (PDM)
- Sound data driven approach to analyse and solve problems
